Was able to take my Dad's Ultra Glide out for a couple of rides while I was home. Now that was comfort!

That would be nice. My brother in law has a big Harley, Road King I believe. It's super comfortable, but not my thing. I can't afford something like that anyway.

Yeah, a couple reasons there why I am not looking at one myself!

Want a fun little sport touring bike for a bit first.

I'm cheap LOL. Don't wanna drop a 10k bike, when I can get one for around $1k just to refresh on. Plus I only live 4 miles from my work. Even if it tears up I won't have far to go

I started to buy a Concours years ago, and wish I had now. It was quite the bike back then. But I hadn't been riding long, and wasn't comfortable on a big bike yet, so I didn't get it.

Yeah, glad I didn't start on one. They are still a beast!

I am torn between between new or used. I like the thought of used since maybe then I could consider a second bike.

Used all the way. New just depreciate so fast, I don't buy anything new. If not for my wife, I'd ride most of the year here, so I could afford a nicer bike. But my wife won't ride, so that's that.

Even in the worst years, we only have 3-4 months that are really cold, and they're pretty mild compared to your winters. I used to ride all year around, on sunny nice days in the winter, but wouldn't ride if it was under about 50.

Most years, I could ride all year except for Jan-Feb, by March it's starting to warm up enough to ride again

yeah, that would be nice! I pushed my luck here this year and had my first ride on the 28th or 29th of March. Had to ride around ice and even over some of it!

I don't expect to be riding for much more than another week here now either.

Some of the deals to be had on new almost makes it worth it. Start knocking 4 or 5k off the msrp and I get interested. The Kawi dealer offered me a 2010 Concours for 15 before tax which is over 5k off the sticker.

I'd love to have a new bike, but with the rapid deprecation, I just can't see it. If I could get one that much off MSRP, maybe. But for me, a $1k-$2k bike would be enough, at least at this point. Shoot, I may even not like riding like I used to. Too many crazy people on the road now

Yeah, back roads can still be fun though as it seems more folks are preferring the highway!

Nice thing about bikes is that there is no shortage of options on the market!
