My dear late wife was an extraordinary woman. Not a saint. Still had some snakes in her head (as all women do), but she once told me something profound. Some people do not want to be happy. I thought she was crazy when she said it. But now, after dating one bimbo after another, I see the truth in what she said. And no person can ever be truly happy if they are selfish. I'm not talking about healthy selfishness, but obsessive selfishness. Be generous and loving. Be forgiving and patient with others. The world does not revolve around us, but we are as much a part of it as anyone else. I learned so much from that young woman. She was 15 years younger than I was, and way wiser. She passed on Oct 5, 2001. I drink a toast to her. Goodnight.
