Didn't know the Mongoose were tearing up the birds. Major bummer!

yeah they are actually a major nuisance....they breed like crazy and are admirable predators

Yeah I did know they were major pests and have really messed up the environment (taken over niches where they should never be).

The Okinawans imported a bunch on mongoose to get rid of the Habu snakes that were eating the endangered bird eggs there. The snake was hiding in the day when the mongoose were out and hunting at night when the mongoose were sleeping. Now there are too many mongoose and snakes. They are talking about importing some kind of cat to catch them both.

Some people never learn.

Man should NOT interfer with Mother nature. WE DON'T know how things will work, Mother nature does. Hey JJ I posted this in the weekend thread but here goes again. Patty's hands shake some. Would it then be better to get the 28-135 IS lens or try and get by with the 24-105? Using the 70-300mm NON IS lens she gets soft blurring whereas I do not (my hands don't shake)
