Setting here before the computer I have my Muppy and Weiner Dog laying on the desk top in front of me. As I look at them contemplating live's quiet vicissitudes (hey it worked for ALF), I began to ask myself this question.
Do I really need the WD. I mean I have MY Muppy, and now a Swamp Warden and the S5 and will soon have at lease ONE Scrapivore. I think I have the smalier/mid knife size covered WITHOUT the WD. But I find myself lacking in the med size blades from Dan. Oh I have a DF and a MilReg and THOSE will do about anything a medium/large knife can be asked to do. But still, I hear the call of the SOD. My oh my, the SOD in a good sturdy rugged sheath with a pouch or pouches attached along with the right OTHER items, water and firemaking items being at the top of the list. This would get a person by for a long time if they were resourceful and at least somewhat practiced in Suvivalcraft.
What to do what to do. I figure I will keep the WD and just bite the bullet and go for a SOD. BUT, the question remains, when?
How many others face this struggle to balance desire/wants with the real world needs and desire to put someone elses happiness before our own?

Glad things are going somewhat good for you Robbie. Up for 22 hours! That's just my normal Sunday. I try and lay down some but for some reason I just can't seem to sleep good enough to do me any good so I stay up until it's bedtime for Patty and the Puppy. As long as I am doing something, keeping my body or mind going I am usually ok. It's when I close my eyes for a couple minutes at a time I start fading in the later hours.
Holding up pretty good Tom. Good thing it's SS though, not prone to going down from non use! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I'm already eyeing the straps on a pack I got at a flea market for $3.00! It's large enough to put two gallon jugs side by side and two high and a single one on top of those. and it's got a blow up lumbar support air bag too. Seems pretty well made.
