As soon as I open my office up my phone rings. Anonymous caller saying the Panzer Kaserne (U.S. Base) fence was breached Halloween night.
Then, I get another call about a fire that burned down a warehouse. In it -- entire shipments of nearly 100 military families' house hold goods. That is worst nightmare PCS stuff there. Imagine a family having all their belongings going up in flames. Now multiply that by 100 families.
Thankfully the installation officials were more than helpful in getting the information needed for tomorrow's paper.
This was on top of the story I had to write about what I covered last night.
Aughhh!!!!!
Done venting. When I was a kid my parents lost everything in a house fire, we were out of town attending my grandfathers funeral when we got the call. Losing everything sucks especially the non-replaceable items

I would like to thank a couple folks that did some searching and sent me links and promise of help to get a knife I would really like to have. I am talking about Myketheknive and CoyoteBC and the Karambit. I wanted (and still hope to get one day) one of these blades. But after some things happened and then some money DID come up I went ahead and decided on a SOD. It will prove more useful to me than the K-bit. AND I already have a blade I carry for that purpose thanks to Tonester.
So Myke and Yote, I thank you for all your help and more importantly for caring enough about a total stranger to "Go the extra mile". Gentle men I salute you!

Yes I agree. It WOULD have been nice. But at least we got a start. Hopefully the new folks will get ahold of the older folks and actually get down to doing what is right for the country, not just for the fat cats in D.C. (themselves)!
