Slow but sure -- feeding the dogs! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" />

Our E911 office just paged out a local city fire department to go to the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge. The page went out something like this:

--- fire department --- fire department, no fire, no fire, need assistance at Mingo. Bow Hunter needing assistance getting out of his deer stand.

That was the transmission. Now Mingo is 25PLUS THOUSAND acres. After I called e911 and talked to them I figured out where his truck was parked. Now it could be anywhere from 1/4 mile all the way up to 2 miles from where this guy is at. Luckly he was not hunting along and his buddy is at the truck waiting for the FD to show up. We are HOPING it is not actually some sort of medical emgergency but don't really know. They did not page it out as an emergency.

Maybe he dozed off and fell, being held up there by a saety strap?

Possibly, or it could be holding him upside down. We just don't know yet.

And to make matters worse, that fire Department just got back home about 3 hours ago from an out of control field fire that had set about an acre of woods on fire!

Those guys sure earn their pay! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

YEAH and if I am not mistaken, they get $25.00 per run, no matter how short OR HOW LONG it takes!

Not much for the work involved!

And it does not matter what they are going to, something like this incident or if an entire town if burning down.
