He sold it and a sport model lee enfield for $150 for the pair. I could have killed him. I told him that I could have gotten him a fair price for them. He hadn't shot them in over 20 years and was moving so he sold them

I really want to go out west and hunt sometime. A pal of mine goes to Kansas every year and hunts, and usually comes back with a nice buck. Not the little 120 lb whitetails we have here.

I only practice out to 300 yards so I limit my shots to around 200 yards. I've got two 308s that I use when there may be longer shots. My 338winmag is for moose

I've gotten offered some deals over the years, but I was always really scared of a "too good to be true" deal. Especially now, I would lose my job if I bought a stolen gun and got caught with it. Of course, I wouldn't buy one if I did, but sometimes people don't report them for a while.

I can't see them now at those ranges, so I stay in the woods where my shots will be shorter. I only practice out to about 100 yards, but I would be confident shooting to 200 with my rifle. I'm sighted 1 inch high at 100, so at 200 I'm about 2 inches low. I'm good with that.

The M-I-L is doing ok, Patty not so much. She is having weak spells again and can hardly be up for 10 minutes without being wore out. She had a couple really good days this week then started having weak spells again. I am about ready to ORDER the doctor to put her into the hospital until they find out what in the H**L is going on!

Something is out of kilter with her Randy. They need to keep her and watch her so they can figure it out.

Tell me about it! But SHE is very resistant to going to the hospital. Over the years she has spent thousands of dollars and many many days in the hospital. Before she had to quit work it was like clock work, every 6 months she would have to go into the hospital for at least a week with blood clots in her leg. She is just so sick of hospitals I almost have to hog tie her just to get her to go to the ER.

With iron sites I would go 125 maybe 150. My 338 and one of my 308s are scoped but also have sights. Once up in norther BC I had a problem with the scope slipping in the weaver scope rings on the 338. Pulled the scope off and hunted for 10 days with just the sights. Changed over to leupold rings and bases and never looked back.
I had a scope on the marlin 44 when I first bought it, didn't like it and pulled it off. Once just before dusk I saw a deer at about 50 yards, couldn't tell if it was a spike or not. It was too dark under the trees, by the time I got my binoculars on it and could see it mas a spike it was too late. In that instance a scope could have let me harvest that deer (it was still legal shooting time)
