It is for someone who is fluent in military jargon. I am changing some of the wording and adding civilian translation where needed. I did plan on doing this, but I have had a few people (civilian friends) express interest in getting a copy.

I think the translation may be helpful to the boots as well.

I think that a lot of "civilians" even if they do not like the military hold to the belief that the Military DOES know how to "gather the facts" on how to do "blank" or how to survive "blank" quite well as an information source.

True. I have bought survival books and this small manual is much better than most if not all of them. When you factor in the fact it is free to download and UNCLASSIFIED for public distribution, it is by far the best.

Definitely not uniform boots. I have always had Rocky boots and they are the tanks of footwear in my opinion. The pair I have now took four winters to wear out. In my experience and considering the amount of use I get out of them, that is a long time.

On the boots, Rockys are the boot all the deputies wear. I am not sure of which particular model but that is what they all wear.

Speaking of quality, I am considering on ordering myself a Tilly hat. But dont know for sure If I should get the one of the T6 models or the T8. One has a 3/4 mesh portion around the top for venting and the other one is a full mess top but both have solid crowns.
