I've had some really nice river float trips in canoes. They're really not as unstable as folks think. IF you want added stability, get you some of those stadium type cushions and knee down on them in the bottom of the boat. It really helps a lot. Then you can just use the seats when your knees/legs need a rest.

its a very wide canoe, so its a little more stable than a standard one I guess
