the crappie are hitting pretty good here from what i am hearing. i might be able to get out over break and try a few. best time to eat them in my humble opinion is on the bank, a good fire going, some taters, and a cold beer or two.

Wonder if i can talk the wife into moving as I want to get a masters next LOL. Kinda hard going to class when there is a good fishing spot so close. Come on down! I'll show you all the good spots. Well most of them anyway <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Hmm, road trip! Just give me some warning so I can get off work! I'm always up for a fishing trip.

We had a beautiful day here. The temp this afternoon was right at 70 and if I had not had school and practice I would have been out doing something. Even if it were practice I would have made a trip then to practice.

Best Trout fishing I ever had was the base lake at Offutt AFB in OMAHA! Seriously. They stocked the base lake with trout. All you needed was a hook with about 2 ft of line tied to it and a can of corn! Fished right through the cracks in the dock. had about 50 in the freezer before I knew better.

Randy, computers and me are not the best of friends. Missed out on that boat for sure. Actually I have no problem taking mechanical stuff apart like guns or even cars but a computer or any other electronic device is a major challenge.

Crappie are my absolute favorite for eating! I can remember going with my dad and catching better than 100 of them in one trip, then coming home and having a fish fry for the neighborhood the next day.

Jeff, if you want fishing, go to Idaho! Trout AND Salmon! Might have to try that someday. If I were to show up with my fly rod they would laugh at my skills. The fish and other fisherman. I doubt they would like red neck fishing. Well, might find some gold before the game wardens arrive! I'm not that great at it now, used to be able to cast pretty well, but it's been a few years since I used my fly rod. I'd pick it back up pretty easily though.

We have a couple place s for trout here in OK but they are all released by the ODWC. One is a lake, Roman Nose, which I have had luck with corn before and the other is in SE OK but never made it there. I never liked the taste of fish much but on the shore it is a different feeling and taste. I have heard the ceder shingle is the way to do trout.............is it so?
