Yeah, dad got some complimentary gift cards from Battery Junction and thought he didn't need any batteries. When I started searching their site, I was happy he gave them to me. I've been wanting a tough pack.

I have Thursday - Saturday off, so I will be trekking into the black forest with my new boots, pack and hopefully camera chest pack for a test run.

I THINK I remember reading somewhere that someone used that pouch with a (I think 40oz) kleen canteen SS bottle and the external pouch for fire starting stuff. That way they had the fixins for a snack/meal or at least a hot beverage. Could always add another pouch to carry MORE food items and first aid as well. Oh and I was reading yesterday where one guy silver soldered a SS washer to each side of his bottle just where the neck starts to narrow and put a SS wire through them for a bail. Looked really nice, almost fractory!

I never use billy cans or bails. I usually deal with chemical heaters (MRE ones). Saves on weight. For water I just use the hydration pack. 3 liters is usually enough water for me. I can always through bottles of water in my pack if need be.

Yeah, but we knew it was going to be like this, so we are ready for it.

I thought steriPens only worked with 1 quart/litre at at time.
