JARED, IF/WHEN you carry it for CCW, MAKE SURE IT WILL FUNCTION WITHOUT FAIL wit every magazine you carry with you. Also, Shoot it at least 500 times IF YOU CAN before betting your life on it, it MUST NOT FAIL when you need it most. Dependability is the FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS! Everything is secondary after that.

You will, I am sure hear others that will refute what I am about to say. But ALWAYS shoot for center of mass or the pelvis area. COM will ALMOST always stop the evil intent. A pelvis shot is supposed to break down the bodies ability to remain upright, therefore also giving you time to "get away".

Jared, if the situation has gone south far enough to give you JUST CAUSE to pull the trigger, you are SHOOTING TO LIVE! If they have gone so far as to warrant a weapon being brought into play to ensure safety, then IF you have to pull the trigger, you must do it with the thought of you are shooting to save the life or lives of yourself or others from someone to whom life does not mean anything. it is a hard thing to accept, but sometimes it does become necessary and you can not look at them as another warm bodied breathing person, but a rabid beast that just be destroyed so that GOOD people can live.

Carrying a weapon is a grave responsibility, one not for everyone. If you have any doubt that you can take a life, do not carry it. For if you do you may be doing nothing more but giving THEM another weapon with which to destroy the lives of others.

I have drawn a weapon on someone else three times now, but Thank God only had to fire once. And that one time, thank God again, No one was hurt. I accomplished my goal without having to injure anyone. I just shot out windows on their automobile to "let them know" I did not intend to be a victim. They rapidly departed to I presume to look for easier prey.

Most of the time ( and I could VERY easily be wrong here) you would only be "authorized" to shoot within about 25 feet or so. Beyond that and a lot of the time you are considered "in the wrong". Of course, like anything, this is not cut and dried. BUT if you are farther than that from the threat "They" may look at it as being out of the "fear of grave loss of life limb or property". m

IF you start to carry, and IF you can, talk to cops that have been at it for many years. Talk to some attorneys (your areas prosecuting attorney would be a VERY good one) to get their take on Florida state laws.

It is relatively easy to teach someone shoot. It is quite another matter, to teach them when NOT to shoot.

Used to, I could tell you the names of every football team there was. Quarterbacks and a lot of the others as well. But over the last several years it just doesn't seem to matter all that much. OH WOW! was just reading the new issue of Blade magazine and came across this website where they said something about being able to actually watch (at times I guess) custom knife makers! Haven't read it yet I just wanted to get this out as something to look at!
