Goodnight Randy. Here's hoping for the best results possible from the tests! My best to Patty as well...

Oh man, just left the range, freaking amazing!

Jumped head first for a first pistol! What made you decide on the CZ Wesson?

Ish, I think he has a Sig P226 also, but this 1911 is SWEET! Nothing like jumping into the 1911 pool in the deep end, is there?

Most of the time ( and I could VERY easily be wrong here) you would only be "authorized" to shoot within about 25 feet or so. Beyond that and a lot of the time you are considered "in the wrong". Of course, like anything, this is not cut and dried. BUT if you are farther than that from the threat "They" may look at it as being out of the "fear of grave loss of life limb or property". m

IF you start to carry, and IF you can, talk to cops that have been at it for many years. Talk to some attorneys (your areas prosecuting attorney would be a VERY good one) to get their take on Florida state laws.

It is relatively easy to teach someone shoot. It is quite another matter, to teach them when NOT to shoot.

Your very close. Thankfully, FL has very proactive gun laws. They also have the castle doctrine, which is great for being away from home as well (if I remember correctly, it provides for your vehicle as well). Granted, I've been out of FL for almost 4 years now...but I still remember my CWL # like the back of my hand. You're in the Orlando area, right Jared?

I may have said this before, but check out the guys at florida shooters network if you haven't already. Lots of really good folks there. Also, take a look at Central Florida Rifle & Pistol Club....they're good people and were always interested in helping good folks out (assuming same as circa 2006).

Best,
Ish

No idear! I dun own one!! I spend all my money on long arms My pistol collection consists of Glocks...they're the SYKCO of the pistol world

I have a feeling the P226 might get passed along soon...few more range trips with the Dan Wesson...hard to go back to mediocre

LOL, I have a couple Sigs and a Glock 19. The G19 is my EDC, but I probably shoot my P229 better. The G19 just feels right in my hand under pressure.

I don't own a 1911 right now, but if the right deal came along I may. But nothing like that CZ Wesson. I'd have to go cheap, like Rock Island.

I feel ya! The Wesson is a user...but it's also what I would consider it an heirloom of sorts.

I'm just not much of a small arms guy...not because I don't like them, but because I haven't collected all the long arms that I want yet For me, long arms have more applicable use.

Oooohhh, yes! I used to be a duck hunter...back when I had time. My grandfather passed a Ruger Red Label O/U 20Ga down to me. That gun is the shiz...I can own the skeet range.

For ducks / turkey...I'll take my Benelli Nova anyday.

Funny story (to me at least)...I tried several auto's duck hunting...I just can't maximize their potential. I end up wasting my last 2-3 shots, without good control. However, the pump action forces me to "re-focus" after each shot and I land 2-3 hits given a good lineup.

I have a set of LC Smith doubles, the 20 gauge is 22 inch barrels bored skeet x skeet. I'm pretty good with it on the range....

My best ever was 23/25, with that 20 gauge. My 12 gauge has 28 inch barrels, and just seems soooo slow to swing after shooting the 20 gauge.
