Back in a bit, my daughter is here for a little bit and I want to see her before she leaves. Talk to you in a little while.

Well, she's like Willie Nelson. And I don't mean bearded and ponytailed. She's on the road again, on her way back to Boone. I miss her being here, but it's part of growing up I guess.

Yeah Dad, ya gotta learn to let go sometime. Tough thou.

Tell me about it. She's my pride and joy, and she's growing up and getting out into the world. I still do all I can to protect her, but from an hour away it's not easy.

She's a pretty good girl, has a good head on her shoulders and her boyfriend seems to be ok. But I still worry....and I always will. She'll always be my little girl.

Todd, ALL you can hope for is that the values you taught her, the "ways of the world" you warned her about have taken hold and she will remember them when you aren't always there to remind her.

YOU DID YOUR BEST, it's now up to her. Nothing you can do about it, except NOT like it but you have no choice but to except it. As I said, knowing all this don't make it any easier.

You're right Randy. I need to print that out and stick it on my wall. I'm the same way with my son, very over-protective. And I think that's a lot of his problem, that I've insulated him from the real world for too long.
