I should be more clear. We had trained at the range using both eyes open....it's just that when sending a round towards an animal...my father's instincts were to pull up and follow the animal (as opposed to following through direct visual with both eyes open). Habits of 50+ years are difficult to break.

That is exactly why I am asking because I plan on going for pig this summer and I have a red dot on now and I am getting really comfortable with at at 100yds.

How are you practicing? The difficulty for me came from acquiring multiple targets while all were moving.

I Played close range advanced paintball for about three years...does that count <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/doh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

that would work!

I highly recommend the Aimpoint T-1....has served me extremely well! You are able to maintain a lot of visible space, and the dot / glass are both very clear.

We did the balloon thing also. We used helium too to keep them moving around in the wind. I think I posted a couple of picks before. That was a great training aid!

I have never hunted an animal, but Ill make an exception for Micheal Vick!

The SWAT team here was issued EOTechs a while back, that's the drill they used to help get used to them. I was on the range that day and got to shoot a couple runs with the guys.

I tried several times to get one for my AR, but never could swing it. I really liked shooting with one, makes it really easy to keep both eyes open and focused on the targets.

I don't want to get into the EOTech vs Aimpoint debate....but most of the actual deployed soldiers I've ever consulted with recommended Aimpoint over EOTech (if you're spending that much...best get the best!)

EDIT...then again, it's like INFI...I may just be an Aimpoint whore <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I just looked up the BCM..That is a sweet AR. I think I could have 10 AR's if I had the money!

There was a guy around here that shot skeet a lot. He got to the point where he couldn't pick up the bead, so he put an EOTech on the receiver of a Franchi shotgun.

Don't know if it worked, but I had a chance to buy the shotgun after he passed away. I wish I had, but didn't have the money at the time.
