I don't want to get into the EOTech vs Aimpoint debate....but most of the actual deployed soldiers I've ever consulted with recommended Aimpoint over EOTech (if you're spending that much...best get the best!)

I wouldnt know the difference anyhow... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/loopy.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/paperbag.gif" alt="" />

EDIT...then again, it's like INFI...I may just be an Aimpoint whore <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I've shot both, and I personally shoot the EOTech better. It's all in what a person likes. Kinda like Canon vs. Nikon or Chevy vs. Ford.

There was a guy around here that shot skeet a lot. He got to the point where he couldn't pick up the bead, so he put an EOTech on the receiver of a Franchi shotgun.

Don't know if it worked, but I had a chance to buy the shotgun after he passed away. I wish I had, but didn't have the money at the time.

sounds like a good combo to me!

BUT I'll say this: I never shot them anywhere but the range. Battlefield use may change that entirely. And I'll never know about that, where the soldiers do.

He ruined the shotgun. Put a small rail on the upper corner of the receiver, looking down the barrel it was canted about 45 deg to the left. That rail just ruined the gun. The EOTech was long gone when I had the chance to buy the gun, but even if I took the rail off there were drilled and tapped holes in the receiver.

I really want to try a "Primary Arms" red-dot clone....

For less than $100....I suspect you can get something suitable for "hunting" and use it on shotguns, 22lr uppers, etc and not spend so much. Their latest generation red-dot seems to be holding up pretty well!

I'd like to put a red dot on my .22 Ruger MkII. I've got the base and mounts, but never have tried to put any optics on it. Seems like it would be fun. But I probably need a scope on it for squirrel hunting....

I have the iTac which is what they were putting stock on the Sig 556 I think. It has worked great for me!
