Only reason I brought that Ranger up is because it is horrible in the snow and ice, and I remember getting stuck on nearly-flat ground last winter in it. Just a smidge of ice on the road, and there I sat.

HAVE YOU TRIED TO PUT SOME WEIGHT IN THE BACK AND OR LOWER YOUR TIRE PRESSURE?

I did, and it worked well enough to get me home. I was luckily near a friends business, he does tractor trailer repairs. We dropped a couple tractor trailer tires in the back and I got it home, but not up the drive.

If I have it running and drive it next year I'm going to get some studded tires for the winter.

It needs a lot of work right now...needs a clutch, windshield, and a throttle position sensor. I could drive it right now except for the throttle sensor. It just dies driving down the road, with no warning.

I figure I'll put $500-$600 bucks in it and it'll be ready again. The repairs will pay for themselves in gas fairly quickly.

The body is great, fairly good paint, no rust or major damage. It's a 94 that I bought brand new, and have put 190k miles on over the years.

I figure it'll do for my son to drive when he starts driving, but till then I'll putter around town in it.

Sounds like it should work. Repairs suck, but need to be done. I have an injector leaking on the Jeep rignt now, but Dad has the O rings so hopefully replacing them (might as well do all 6 of them) won't be to hard.

I can do some of the stuff it needs done, except for the clutch and windshield. Just don't have the place or equipment to do those. But the clutch won't be but around $400, and the windshield is another $175.

Throttle sensor is only like $25 bucks, and I can put it on. Only bad thing is I'll have to pull the intake manifold to do it, so while I'm in there I'll change the plugs and plug wires too.

Well it has started to snow again. the roads are starting to get covered again.

How flat is it there? I mean, do you have many hills to go up on your way home?
