I wish I knew how to can like my grandmothers did. Nothing like stewed tomatoes in the winter.

We've eaten well this winter from my mom and my wife's mom. They both can way more than they'll ever eat, and we get the extras. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

My parents are not in the best health and they only live a couple blocks away so I would probably hunker in than bugging out. Remember things like tooth brush, deodorant, simple things like that will make the transition/time spent a little easier. In my pack I have a small copy of the New Testament, playing cards, and a SERE book.
