I the sheriff is a knife guy maybe he would want to take a trip to check out some new equipment options for the department. just a little window shopping... for the department of course.

Well I mean If we got there on say Friday morning, we would need to get all the paperwork started and sorted out. that would take all day (well at least the morning anyway ), then we couldn't leave until Monday morning, The "Brass" doesn't work on weekends ya know, sounds logical to me!

Dont' know if I have ever related this here or not, probably have but Oh well.

I had been here for a week or so and the door to the jail opened up, a deputy walked through, the Sheriff (but not sheriff at the time) and another deputy. He was wearing a t-shirt, jeans and a ball cap. He looked at me as asked what was doing and I told him Worked here now. I then asked him What he was in jail for! He laughed and said he was the chief of Police (actually the ONLY officer) of a local city. I said NO WAY and we BOTH just started laughing like a couple idiots. 20 years earlier we were supposed to have gone into the Air Force under the buddy program, but he never showed up for the last day.

I'll tell you what though, He is the best Sheriff this county has had for about 40 years! And THAT is from folks that have been here for the entire 40 plus years!

Sounks like a great guy to work for AND be friends with. Our sheriff is a good fellow, but I wouldn't be comfortable calling him John. Not that he'd mind, you know, but I would just out of respect.
