wow.. ribs on the grill are done... had to put a few in the pressure cooker to infuse bbq sauce for my son... woohoo... feast is soon... I've been thinking about that since you mentioned it, hope they are good.

One good thing about where I work (0k Todd), where I am EMPLOYED is that we have a separate Jailers section. We don't have to interact with the inmates at all. Good thing to, I couldn't handle all that whining and complaining, our Deputies are bad enough!

I occasionally have to stand with them while the deputy makes a head call. They'll hand me a TASER and tell me to shoot them if they try to run. I just stand there and stare at 'em, never had one run yet.

Oh man, tough question. Probably something with about a 4 inch blade with a moderate clip point, rounded off spine NO choil, blade edge goes all the way to the plunge line. Mudder grips just slightly bigger than what's on the Muppy and weiner dog, but not longer. Actually the Muppy, Bog Dog, Weiner dog or S5 would work, heck I'd even take an SS4 if I HAD to. If I could have one, and ONLY one knife for EVERYTHING, It would probably be the S5.
Good length, but not to long, useful blade shape for skinning and gutting and bushcraft duties as well, would also work as a food prep blade.

Our jailers do all that. Here's how it goes.
Person is brought in, say for DWI. They get set down and OBSERVED for 20 minutes. Then they are taken to the breathalyser machine where they either blow or refuse (a refusal is the same as failing the test). They are then booked in, fingerprinted and dressed out in jail clothes IF they don't get someone to come bail them out. This is all done (except for the breathalyser) by the jailer. Pics are taken then the either bond out or go into a cell. The officer that caught them writes the tickets and gives them to the jailer.
