Nice, I'm guessing that your Wolf (or some other formere COMBLOC ammo) for your model. That is a great round and you gotta love how AKs will eat those steel cases all day. Plus the steel rounds just look cool and you don't feel all guilty about not picking up your brass. Nice art Amigo.

I have had problems with 7.62X54 but its still an all around decent round and it makes an 06 look impotent!

I've been all about ak's this past week or so. Think im getting one whenever the funds clear up. wish I had gotten an SGL21 back win the where $500. Didnt learn about it until they where on their way back up.

wolf/golden bear/silver bear they are all dang near the same ammo. You always just got to make sure it is non-corrosive. Any Ak is better than none. I mean Saigas aren't what they used to be. Norinco has been making junk for a long time. But I would argue that even the junkiest WASR will shoot long after the barrel is done with minimal problems. The only ones I try to stay away from are the CAI builds (they have there place don't get me wrong). An AK is an AK (i know some of the custom builders make amazing AKs and I'm not talking quality of build). I would love to have a nice milled one. But I don't think I would carry it because of the weight. Unless it was an AKM.

I think you should get one as soon as possible because they are so much fun to shoot.

on the 7.62x54 it depends what ammo your willing to shoot. If your willing to shoot corrosive ammo and deal with that continually (ammonia?). You can shoot real cheap. I prefer Wolf in this caliber. Plus when you can buy a Mosin for 99 bucks who cares if the rounds are a few cents cheaper. Its just a fun weapon to shoot.

What are you shooitng now that fires 7.62x39? SKS, MINI?

well I'm just shopping now. would love to snag something in July but too much going on to think I could. I'm going before the end of the year. hopefully something will happen that will get the prices down. if not I may even try to snag a $400 one just to have in the stash. dot think I will go the AR15 route anytime soon. I want something else other than my M1A to toss around.
