Found a bi-tone at a nice price that I'm thinking of. Either that, or I save for a 1911 or get a Micro Eagle 380.

Obviously doesn't shoot as well as a 4 or 5" barrel, but it's harder to cram a 5" in the pants <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I am big on how much mass a slide has. specifically height over your hand. The help redeuce recoil the closer the mass is over your hand generally the less recoil will be felt. The subcompacts seem to be a bit higher than the glocks. On the same vane the grip is so much better on the XD than on the glock.
And both are way better than the H&K P2000. That pistol has freakishly high recoil for a 9mm.

I have been debating picking up a 9mm pistol to play with. I'm not sure what I would pick up though.

is the 380 just a waste of time? Debating one as a mouse gun to throw in the shorts pocket during the summer months.

I have an LCP that I use for pocket carry. Anything is better than nothing. It is reasonably accurate for me considering the lack of sights.

I have to say that I loath the 380 though. I do carry one though. It's just easy to throw a pocket holster in and go.

Why the 380 loathing? Underpowered round? Not a Ruger fan? Difficult to shoot?

Original plan was to get the Micro Eagle. But then I saw this XD-SC pop up..."OOO look! Another bright shiny object!"

I like the theory of having a mouse/pocket gun. Don't like the idea of having ONE MORE round to either buy or reload for.

The underpowered 380. I prefer to make distance and engage if I have to. The ruger has sights but they are about useless. The trigger ull/travel on the ruger is roughly a mile long and is a PITA for me. I have been shooting essentially the same gun for 17 years. So I am very accustomed to a 5.5 lb short travel trigger on a glock.
