New home if I get approved. No reason I won't, just haven't yet, but I sent the application in this morning.

WOW! Lake, river, pond?

Pond with a river running through it. The river is Jordan river that runs through Salt Lake City north and south. It runs a block away from my office and Jordan River trial will take me there with minimal cycling in traffic (only a few blocks).

The trail will also bring me to Great Salt Lake and the lake south of the city (can't remember the name) without traffic.

According to Google maps, bike ride to work will be about 30 minutes, and a bike ride to the lake is about 1.5-2 hours. I am pretty fast so you can almost halve those times unless I am taking a relaxing pace.

The land there is extremely flat for being surrounded by mountains.


I believe it is so flat because it is an old lake bed under the city. Slat flats anyone?

I plan to do a ton of biking there. When I do week long trips it will be south to the canyons and shorter trips will be into the mountains.

And don't forget to check with Hill AFB, they SHOULD have a ton of information about things to do in and around the local area.
