I'm on the fence about liking the war boar. doesn't look like my kind of blade. Dan has a knack so I will see what the Yard has to say and hope they show up on the exchange when I have the funds.

Skunk check out the JRE field stop, rolls up small to save space.
MB, sharpening a convex edge with a stone is a highly skilled technique. You can sharpen with a stone but it will produce a V bevel that reduces the cutting performance advantage of a convex edge. convex sharpening is fairly easy, check out kniveshipfree.com for instructional videos.

I have tried the lansky system and ceramic rods as well as diamond hones. Didn't really care for any of them. The Ceramic rods were OK for a bit them just stopped working for me. I am guessing they plugged up with material.

I still need to find a sharpening method that will work for me. I would prefer to be able to get it sharp with a electric tool but still be able to keep it up by hand.

Black is usually boron carbide, around 1-2 microns. The green is chromium oxide and is typically between 0.3-0.5 microns.15,000 grit and 50,000 grit respectively. The green is overkill unless you want to shave your face.

Yeah I have a lansky as well, but stopped using it years ago. I just do the freehand thing with diamond and ceramic now.
