I just sent Thomas W a PM. I addressed him as "Tough Guy", since he stated that I was too weak to open a JYD. I told him that I would be looking for him at the Blade Show and that he could recognize me as the big guy with the gray beard and horns. There are a few more wise guys at BF I hope to meet as well. Got to go now. Time for my bowflex workout.

IMO, you ought to bring the knife and drop it in his hands and say "show me". The only correct response to a customer complaint is "if we messed up we'll make it right".

If a company rep wants to smart mouth me I'd just stop buying their products. Period. Life's too short to waste the emotional energy of doing business with people you don't like. I'm spending discretionary money on something that's supposed to make me happy, not aggravated. And it's not like there aren't a bunch of other good knife choices.

And Magnum, I agree with your statement. Thomas is often defensive in any forum discussions criticizing Kershaw knives. People who have to market products professionally sometimes become so emotionally attached to the product/company that they are unable to maintain an objective professional detachment and really listen between the lines to what customers are saying.

Thomas W PMd me. Said to send it back, but if he could open it with one hand it would be no defect. I say bull. I should not have to sling my whole arm and wrist in some mall ninja theatrics just to open a frigging pocket knife. It should not require any wrist or arm action at all. They adverise the JYD as easy opening! You know what I feel like doing with the knife? I would like him to feel my pain and then some. I feel like taking it with me and checking out any JYDs they have there at the Blade Show, hopefully finding one that works properly and then just "trading", whether they like it or not.
