Folks claim that a convex edge lasts longer and is easier to sharpen. Not for me. Never having a convex edge I needed to sharpen I am new to it. But conventional V grinds, been doing them for nigh on to 50 years. I can get one sharp enough to do some major damage, at least with the edge that I prefer.

I tried sharpening the convex and it was quite easy to get it sharp but I didn't manage to make it razor sharp.

V-grind came easily to a point where the biggest problem was to think fine enough device to continue working.

Convex edge is good on large blades made for hitting over cutting. Alltough I think V-grind works fine also. Convex edge stays sharp enough maybe longer than V-grind so in certain applications it's good.

WD is a small knife so I want it to be a cutter.
