Anyone else going to watch the POTUS tonight? I want to hear his plan for getting our troops out of A-Stan..............what doesn't make sense to me is that it will be about 30,000 troops but 70,000 will still be there. Isn't this the fighting season over there?

So we are going to have a sit down with the A-Stani's and the Tali's............that is nice to know. I guess I can believe that we will not allow terrorists hide outs, at least that was proven when Osama bit the dust.
I was not around for when the end of WWI, WWII, Korea, Viet Nam (I was but not old enough to know), but I don't have a good feeling about all this.

Not a very long speech. So we are going to see 1/3 of the troops home by next summer.
Very prominent point...............Time to focus on Nation Building here at home.
So what does this mean for the soldier on the front line, will there be less pressure that will lead to increased attacks or will it be a quieter time while they wait for the US to pull out completely?

Sit down talks with the Taliban. Its a bad idea. By doing so it will legitimise them as a political faction. Which will essentialy force us to negotiate with terrorists.
