Like I stated, I was going to release it in the field, but I guess I just pressed down a little too hard. However, there are PLENTY more of his brethren around here, and besides, the buzzards have to eat too! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> As a youngster, I used to go with friends and pick them up in 5 gallon buckets - drove my Dad nuts! He didn't want a yard full of snakes around our neat little suburban home. We used to release them in a field by the big water tank supplying our suburb.
I let grass grow along our fence lines for the wildlife, along with heavily treed areas. It helps support the quail and turkeys around here, along with groundhogs, possums, raccoons, and of course deer.
