I must say that I'm VERY impressed with this blade. This seems like an all-purpose machine. It can open beer bottles, slice, open beer bottles, chop, open beer bottles, baton, open beer bottles......well I think you get the point.

I'm kicking myself for not getting the guard as well. stupid.
Congrats, Arkie. Have you actually tried it on a beer bottle? Dan said it would not work on Michelob Ultra. That is why I got the Guard, instead, plus the fact that it fits sheaths easier. The Hook does look cool, though. I just got my shipping notice today, so I'll have my Guard soon! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbup.gif" alt="" />

If all I had was Mich Ultra, I would use the hook to stab myself.

The DM opens bottles well - just push the blade in (not too hard!!), and do a quick tip pry - works every time! I'm really hoping that I can get the hook to open bottles though.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about the names of the recurves.
The mojo is the Hook Guard and the one without the Hook is the Yard Guard.
HG =one with ugly but cool hook and the YG is the one with the bump like the DF.
I don't like the look of the little bump on the DF but I love how it feels on my thumb for grip.
