All the talk of p-dog guns got me wanting to build another one and hit the western part of the state. Thanks guys, did I mention I have about 500 rds of 55 Hornady V Max ammo loaded and no gun for it?

On the rifle I will probably go with a fixed length adjustable stock like this and a 20-24 inch fixed barrell flat top with optics only. I had a PRS on a RRA National Match, and couldn't get use to it. I like really short LOP, and the PRS isn't capable of that.

Sumo - you can send that 556 my way, and I'll post pics of me shooting it <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I have a couple of Sig's (556ER and 556Classic Diopter), and have to say....I do like them. I also have Colt AR15's, and have owned MANY MANY AR's over the years so my comparison is fairly comprehensive. In addition to countless AR's (ArmaLite, BCM, Bushmaster, DMPS, EA, Eagle Arms - Coal Valley, Eagle Arms - div of ArmaLite, Olympic Arms, Rock River Arms, SGW, Smith & Wesson), I've also owned original IMI Galils, original Finish Valmets, original Austrian AUG's, original German HK93's, original Japanese & English AR180's, original Korean Daewoo AR100s & DR200's, original Chinese Type 84 and 84S-1, etc etc etc. Having said all of that.... What was Sig thinking when they chose to NOT chrome line the bore and chamber? They say that the nitriding process makes chrome lining unnecessary, but after having had a half dozen stuck cases (hot weapon left with round in chamber and suffered from a FTE later when the round in chamber was fired) I call BS. The Sigs are very accurate, and easy to maintain. After several hundred rounds the weapon is barely dirty (as opposed to a carbon caked AR upper). The reliability with polymer coated steel case ammo is a deal killer though. I've relegated my Sig556's to range toy only use as a result.

As a side, the rifle I'm shooting in my avatar is an Arsenal SLR-106FR (Bulgarian side folding 5.56 AK101). I used it in a Level Two carbine class two weekends ago, and it performed very well.
