How many moles does it take for a quart of molasses? Oh I bet you think you're cute don't you! Ok, It WAS funny but I was trying real hard not to laugh. Oh and it would take about 562! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

We raised a lot to sell too. One year we raised about 10 acres of watermelons and cantaloupes. Sold a pile of them, and that paid for the rest of the garden that year. That was a great summer, the watermelon patch was on the side of the river, so I got to spend most of the summer in the river fishing. I think I was about 12 or 13

Don't think this is original but Man is it tasty!
Take a stick (we use the tip end, about 3 ft long) of a cane pole.
Take a bisquit and stretch it out long and thin. Wrap it around the cane, making sure it's sealed up real good, specially on the end. toast it over an open fire until it's golden brown, pull it off the stick and pour your molasses/butter inside! Oh MAN IS THAT GOOD! Honey ain't bad either.

my granddads grew quite a few things. what was surprising is the quality of the wild stuff growing around the land. I could always smell the plums and whatever in the air whenever I would visit for the summer. even that stuff was better than anything I buy at the stores now. my grandma sent me a ton of blueberries once and I cant eat store bought blueberries without thinking what a blueberry should really taste like.

We don't really have a place for a garden at our house but we did plant a half dozen tomato plants and had much "maters! But it was so dry and hot the were splitting open before they were ripe! Could only get 2-4 slices out of each one!

Patty really likes them too. She will slice them up and put mayonaise on them. Hey, it's pretty good! While we're on the subject of food. We found some Maple leaf cream cookies the other day. Man are them things good! Never even heard of them before. Patty said she used to eat them when she was a kid. Oh, haha, they're MAPLE flavored!!!
