While walking this morning, down my road, I noticed a trail I had never been down only about 100 yds from my property.

I had seen children go down this trail last year, but I had never follwed it.

In spite of the drought, this area seemed moist and cool, with plenty of mosquitos. I figured there must be a swamp nearby.

The trail meandered for about a quarter mile. I know this will all be developed soon because the property is for sale.

I came to a little clearing.

Was this buzzard an omen?

Horned, dangerous, and off my medication.

Then I came to this swamp, filled with wild ferns.

I am glad I got off the road for my walk today.

Hah! Sorry, Dan, no high adventure. There were rabbits, squirrels, cardinals, and one pretty rooster, but I failed to photograph them. Just a little morning walk that went to some place new. Pretty boring to many, I'm sure, but it made me feel good and I felt that maybe those trapped in cities might enjoy it.

Boring ? Nope, this seems to be very recreative and enjoyable. Nice pics. Thanks.

Nice pics. Is that a buzzard or a georgia skeeter?

When he said he saw kids going down there, I expected him to stumble onto some beer cans and trash. I guess those kids are being good.
