Oh man, Well Ruger used to make some good ones. Stoger I THINK makes some passable ones, or at least used to. Boy, I'm reaching so far back that even the names are not coming to me. You're talkin to a guy that used a J.C. Higgins 12 ga for about 25 years.

It's not an O/U but our Chief deputy got a Stoger 12 ga pump with synthetic buttstock, pistol grip and fore end. He really likes it. Course it is not designed as a hunting gun, unless you count humans.

i checked the rugers. nice, but not in ruger's normal price range. not sayin it isn't worth it, though.

Right now, it's a Remington 1100 12ga, 870 20,ga a .410 bolt action and my wife has a single shot .410 her dad gave her when she was about 13.

I remember for years I wanted a Browning Citori, but for me then (and now) $$$ I just won't pay that much for a gun.

Oh and I forgot to mention my Brief case shotgun. A 20ga Mossy 500c

CZ makes an over and under for $700. marketed like a ruger. cheap and tough.

Never been one much for side by sides. Don't really know why. I have one that I kinda got as an early inheretance. All I Know about it that I can remember (it's out at my parents right now) is that it is marked "Royal Belgian gun works, wire twist damascus barrels. 12 ga with external hammers and double triggers. And it has L O N G barrels.

From what I remember about over unders I would say that's not a bad price.

that's the single selective trigger. the double trigger is less than $500 and adds the coin finish.

When I was stationed in Omaha I shot a lot of skeet using my 870 with a skeet barrel I ordered. Averaged about 22 out of 25. Felt pretty good about it. But Man, some of those guys had some NICE shotguns. Over Unders in 12 guage with full barrel inserts for .410, 28 and 20 guage which would allow them to shoot in all catagories. They had some bucks tied up in those guns. Boy they sure were pretty though and man the balance was NICE and they shot real good.

Boy it would be tough to decide. But cheap as I am I would probably go with the double triggers. That way you could select which choke you wanted to use first without having to move a switch, button or lever.
