Hey JJ, do you work a normal 5 day week like most folks or do you also have to pull standby on weekends/nights.

I normally work 9-6 on work days, but that is just an idea. I did an interview last night at 2000 since the subject matter expert is in the Pacific Time Zone. I work weekends occasionally when that is when the news is happening. I would say that 75 percent of the time I keep within the 9-6 weekday schedule.

I wasn't really sure how they worked that. Are you going to miss the S&S when you get to SLC?

Yeah. I love reporting and writing. But, I also like seeing new places. I will also be able to make good contacts while working in marketing. I plan to continue my tech and game articles when I get out.

My editors don't really care what hours I work as long as I keep feeding the goat.

Do you have to buy the games you review or do you get them gratis or on like a pass around, or am I completely missing the boat?

Oh another thought, are your present boss(s) military as well or civilian?

My editor is a civilian as is 90 percent of S&S staff. S&S has a commander, he is an Air Force LT. Col. He is in charge of the admin and operations side of the house no the editorial side. We all go by first names and he gets mad when I call him sir instead. He has gotten used to it though.

The games are always free. I usually get the video games a few weeks before they are released in the stores. I had to sign agreements with most of the studios to not write any spoilers or not to print reviews before the actual release date of the game. I also had to agree not to sell the games they send me. I am allowed to donate them and send 90 percent of them to the Wounded Warriors program. I did a story on the Wounded Warriors program and was pretty disgusted by their terrible and outdated game collection in the rec rooms. So, I have been keeping the one here pretty well stocked with new titles.

JJ, If you have access to Fox TV, turn it on. They are going to have some talk about the statements Harry Reid made where he said that "THEY" have a responsibility to spend the money that the constitution mandates and that it should not be given to another branch. The then said he could NOT understand why ANYONE would want to give up that power! WHAT AN IDIOT!
