I will not be on too long myself; kind of bummed out and I don't want to drag down the forum. Last night I received an email followed up immediately by a phone call from a friend of mine from VietNam days. One of the guys we served with - a really nice guy and GREAT in the "bush", passed away at age 65. In fact, he saved my buddy's life- he was a navy Corpsman - when an NVA soldier jumped in his position during a night ambush. Jackie spun and blew away the NVA before he could kill "Doc Rudy", my friend who emailed and called me. Jackie was an outstanding combat Marine, and I learned from him and respected him greatly. I last spoke with him about a month ago and he sounded fine, but apparently he had a stroke that claimed him. He will be greatly missed. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Tom. Sorry to hear about your buddy. I was never in combat, but I have talked to those that have, plus being a cop in the past I understand how "Close" "Brothers in arms" can truly become. It is like family yet somehow even moreso. You have my prayers for strength.

Tell his friends and family there is a Marine on the other side of this big planet who will be toasting Jackie tonight.
