JJ, they are indeed rare friends. I have talked to handlers of dogs that is in the military and LEO situations and have heard like stories. I read a book several years ago about the role of dogs in history, can't think of the name at the moment. Anyway, there was a story of a Union officer at Gettysburg that had given his life for the cause. The officers dog went missing and his wife found the officers grave as the dog was sitting at it. Now mind you the dog and wife were not on the field, they were following behind the main army. Things like that amaze me.
