Matter of fact, the Corps of Engineers is talking about blowing a levee in the next county over here in Missouri that will flood thousands and thousands of acres, just to keep a town of 2800 in Illinois from flooding. It's PRIME farm ground, and there will be 100's of people and machinery and animals that will have to moved. Now don't get me wrong, I don't want to see anyone get flooded out, but sometimes you got to take the lesser of two evils. Cairo Illinois is the city they are talking about blowing the levee for.

The country side sure isn't what it used to be. It's changed dramatically just since I was a kid and I'm 57. Now if the folks know you, usually not any problem. But if you go where folks don't know you or your family.... And I WON'T buy a lease to hunt. Not that I hunt anyway, but it just seems so alien to me.
