Congrats Sar! It's gonna get easier all the time. Part of it is getting comfortable around the other folks, not being afraid to revel to much. I firmly believe that there are some things you shouldn't post here, I mean anybody can read what we write without joining, but some things especially in todays sick society should be kept away from prying eyes. Pm and email are good avenues for that.

Just my Sharpmaker. Ive probably had the knife on it for nearly 6 hours total. Hard going on a Sharpmaker for a steel that hard. Yes 'twas a huge pain. That's where wheels would come in handy. But then I need to learn the stone for when I am out and about.

Like I think Todd said, get you a 6 inch course grit hone (diamond might be best) and then maybe a two sided course/fine folding hone and you will be all set for most any sharpening job. DMT makes a two sided folding hone about 4 inches long. I have two, both one sided, course and fine. That is all I used to use before I got the 6 inches course hone and the medium ceramic hone.

Try carrying paper wheels out in the woods LOL

Steeley, like that and phone numbers. The internet CAN be like the old telephone party lines, ANYBODY can listen in when you're in a public place, like this.

If it aint quality and it aint sharp, it don't leave the house <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
