Thats what they call "Ghetto Mace" ....Raid! Nah, what workes better is a can of lye...oven cleaner. Except it's worse than mace as it can permanantly blind you. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />

I haven't thought of using Oven cleaner....besides, you can get that 20-30' range in the direct stream with the wasp killer!

Well you should look into this Paul, what is your local laws on mace? You just might want to start carrying a can on Raid Wasp and Hornet killer to get those buggers running away!!!

It probably wouldn't surprise you that mace is also illegal over here (like most everything else this interesting...). My own favorite alternative is oven cleaner, it was on the news a while ago when a little old lady gave a would-be bag snacher a face full of it!.. Strike one for the good guys!

I never heard of using oven cleaner...isn't it close range and fog like, whereas that Raid is a thick jet like stream of irritation heading for the persons face and you can get them from a distance...Paul, what about those annoying loud ear bleeding alarms....are those legal. Or do you have to be a self defense master over there....can you use a stick?

Overhere the only people walking the streets with weapons are the bad guys... I think the oven cleaner was used at 'close quarters' and I believe the police took a very sympathetic view of the incident towards the poor defenceless(?!) little old lady...
Screech alarms are fine and certain gas ones used upside down at close quarters can be quite destructive (or so I've heard!). Bottom line over here; run away or get handy with martial arts...
