It can't operate as a phone currently, although you can download a skype app.

I'm sure. If I was using it for something other than playing around and surfing the web I'd find something wrong , but I have a decent laptop and another computer for other things

Got a laptop (2 actually) and a desktop. Patty uses one laptop and I am usually on the desktop but sometimes use the other (4-5 year old laptop) when I want to be in bed beside her. If it craps out will probably buy another laptop, IF we decide to have a 3rd compute again.

On the new one, you can video chat with people who have an iPad or iPhone through FaceTime , I did it the other night with my sister it was pretty cool

Ok, I didn't think it had a phone mode. I have been looking at ebook readers lately. ALMOST got a kindle, was bundled with some other stuff and only $114.00, but decided I don't actually read THAT much. Specially when I can get used books from .50c up to about $4.00.

I've got my dad's old media desktop, has the Intel i7 running VMware. He wasn't using it so I annexed it.

Computers in general just anger me sometimes, I'm glad I don't really have to use them for work all to much, other than the occasional email or scan

They're nice, but I don't need one.
