By the way, if you joined the Guard you can always go active.

The military is an option, but make sure its for the right reasons.

I'm not familiar with the Marine reserves, however I think all the branches are the same.

You should check where the Marines reserve units are. If you can manager college and find a MOS you like it could be very doable.

I'm not going to the military to kill people. That is something I will never do, kill someone just for the sake of killing them, I will defend my country, and I will kill people who present a threat. I will always fight the killing of innocent people, even if they may be aligned with the people I am assigned to kill.

If I could do it over I'd join the Air National Guard.

I served in the Army and the first time I went to an Air Force base I wanted to cry!

Except the work, I'd much rather be on the ground than sitting in an armchair if I'm in the armed forces. I also would have and extra two pay grades in the Marines because I will be an Eagle scout. Boarding school has gotten in the way, I'm almost there.

I was in the AF for 20 years. As far as living conditions, and the way they treat their people (Unless it' changed since 1994) the services rank as:

1. Air Force
2. Navy
3. Army
4. Marines

I am not counting the Coast Guard although the Coasties I knew had it almost as good as the AF.

AND I did not rank them this way because I was AF. I just saw how they were treated and talked to members of all the branches and they concurred with my listing.

We have already gotten 241 posts today, ahead of the power curve again. Now we just need to keep up the pressure and not slack off.
