Fortunately she had started putting the pictures on CD's and she still has many of them that way and also on memory cards from the camera.

I am pretty stoked about the new blade. I hope I am looking at it right. It might be exactly what I was looking for but never knew it.

Yeah I almost wish it was a 4 incher, but with the slimness of the blade it might just work out. And I really like the way it gently slopes down almost like a gradual false edge.

It looks like a bigger F-1 with a choil or a tad shorter A-1. Just a hair thicker and way better steel.

Well this is all work and I can do it again. It's the family pics and preserved moments that really hurt. having multiple backups is the only way to go. I am going with 3 options from this point on I hope. HD, Server, and DVD backups... Most of this stuff was mock ups and demo content that I can recreate. The hours I spent was more to develop and showcase my skill but I was hoping to use a of the content later. I should've known better after loosing a couple hundred gigs a few mouths a ago. There's a reason I use the screen name "lazi" I guess.

I guess I am eventually going to have to get some leather and load it up with a couple different grits so I can keep my knives sharp that way. Right now I don't sharpen my blades the way I should cause it's a pain to break out the Sharpening kit bag I keep everything in and then have to put it all back afterwards. With a strop I could just roll it up and put it in a bag of some kind.

I have never stropped a blade. I hand sharpen with a stone. Hopefully that will work with this edge.

We don't necessarily become "lazi", but complacent.

It will, but you will eventually loose the convex edge. I have at least 2 blades that are convex but have not used them enough that I need to sharpen them yet. guess I have to many blades!

I have a blade that looks convex and I have had it for 25 or 30 years. Still shaving sharp. But it may be that I have just sharpened it enough times it has taken its own unique profile.

I may have to break down and learn to strop as well.
