I believe they are an isolated incident. Don't be worried about Scrapyard quality. They are top notch and these types of issues are rare.

Good to hear that. I think it's good that people openly report problems and SY fixes them. It's good for the brand.

The long time shipment to Europe is the biggest problem if, you get a blunt knife!
It takes 2/3 weeks to get the knife and if it's a bud you'll have to send it back. Again 2/3 weeks! It gets sharpened and reshipped, again 2/3 weeks... Total of (worst case scenario!) 9 weeks before you can realy use your new knife!

As you said time is the biggest problem so if there is a problem I'll have to consider dealing it by myself. I haven't done a convex sharpening though. There is also a risk of losing the knife in mailing process.

I plan on building nearly everything like that. I am not too shabby with kydex and am geting better with leather.

Sheaths. What else do you build from Kydex and leather. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" /> I will build some holsters as well but in a more limited capacity.
