I had a "Bob Sky" knife made back in the '80 that had a deeply grooved handle like that and it wasn't comfortable to use at all. Bob Sky was his business name, his real name was Robert Hajovsky.

Agressive grooving can really look nice but doesn't do to much for actually using.

I have pretty tough hands ( construction and all) and granted I chopped up about 4 big branches and a bunch of smaller ones to clear the way ( part of a tree fell over) it blistered the tips of my finger, only one kinda bad, but still
