Wow, History channel talking Turkey. A domestic Tom Turkey weights about 50 percent more than a wild one and a domestic turkey's brain is about a third less than a wild turkey. Most affected portion is vision. Guess that means they got a bunch of fat blind stupid turkeys walking around.

YUP, thought you would appreciate that. I pity those poor guys that have to hang the 40 pound turkeys on the dis-assembly line in the plant all day long!

Ours were all topped out at about 25 lbs. I hated putting them into the trucks for shipping. They got drove into a funnel, then onto a conveyer and finally at the top two guys had to grab them and cram 7 bird into each cage on the truck. And they weren't happy about it either.

But then again, the loaders weren't very happy either.

There are a lot of chicken houses around here, there is a Tysons chicken plant located In Dexter Mo. A chicken truck had a wreck yesterday and we had to have a deputy stay there for traffic control from about 4 until after midnight! Don't know how many chickens are on a typical truck, but it will number into the thousands.

We've had a lot of chicken catchers pass through here in the past, I sure wouldn't want to do it. Don't know if it's more automated now or not.
