I have the same JYD, awesome knife and steel.
For longer blades you need to angle the blade to the stone so you are covering more surface area. Like a long slice on the stone. Look up some videos on YouTube to see better what I am talking about. WILCO, Thanks Jason. I really appreciate the time and advice.

Yes, I'm aware. A friend of mine, a brilliant photographer named Larry, does a lot of splendid hummingbird photography in Arizona.
Nikon users would say "micro". Most others would say "macro". This shot is at almost 2x life size, so the term would be "photomicrography" - but hardly anyone ever says that.
The crab spider was preying on the yellowjacket. The yellowjacket tried (unsuccessfully) to defend itself.

Man I'm out I just watched a guy polish a huge japanese kithen knife on granite with 3 micron paper. It looked very tiring. Have a good one.
