Mike, I just read your posting about your friend. We all, that is if we truly care about someone blame ourselves somewhat, even if we know there in all probability wasn't anything that we could have done.
We wshall never know why God chose to call him home, perhaps it was to spare him from something even more terrible, or to somehow save those that he cared about or someone that will read about his death and save them from something terrible. I feel the BEST thing we can do in a situation like this is to remember the impact this person had on our lives, to remember the good times that were shared, either on a daily basis or only once or twice a year.
As is said Mike, "Keep the faith" Keep the memory of your friend alive by bringing some of his life's philosophy into your own and pass it on to others.
I am deeply sorry for your friend and YOU have my heartfelt condolences for this loss of your great friend.
IF It is thought "Something ain't right" have his sister or someone press the Police, plant a seed of doubt about the circumstances and background of the woman or possibly a "New Friend" she may perhaps suddenly have.

Every death touches multiple people. It´s something you don´t always think about when you hear somebody died.
I feel sad for the kids. Children are pure minded and innocent. There´s always a chance of a better world when they stay that way. We adults are responsible to give kids a chance for good childhood and future.

I'm in and out.. But wow! Jus read about your friend Evo. Sorry to hear of your loss. That is a sad story to hear about anybody much less a friend. I hope his family will be able to find some peace as time passes. Have to remember to appreciate the time he was here. Regardless of how things happened it seems he wasn't in a good place (wife stabbing him and all). Rest in peace.

So Mike, how are the new "branch out" endeavors going?

The branch out endeavors have been going really slowly. One of my business partners went to Africa for 4 weeks, and then has had to deal with business (a different business - chairman of the board of a big corporation) since he got back. Another took his son on a 2 month fly fishing tour of the Western USA. Another went to Australia for 7 weeks. And I've been on 5 nature photography expeditions in the last month.
So, basically, it's all been on hold.
On the bright side: This last Monday, I came up with my next photo project. I'm excited about it.

Holy smoke! High Rollers. And Just think, I knew you when you were just Mike, MR. Spinak sir! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
I'm glad you are still excited about you "Passion". I think it is Steeley that has a sig line stating that If you find a job you like, you will never to have to WORK a day in your life, or at least something like that.

Has Patty been well enough to get out and enjoy nature, and take some photos?

No, that hasn't happened but once, about two months ago Mike. She just can't stand the heat that we have been suffering with plus she still gets wore out pretty quickly. But there is a bright side, sort of. My stepson (her son of course) unfortunately is separated from his wife and there will probably be a divorce. BUT the silver lining to this cloud is that we have The Grand baby staying with us three days a week every other week (Derek works 8 days and is home for 7, two work cycles a month)so that gives Grammy something nice to look forward to. Addison is now 16 months old and the pitter patter of fast moving little feet on the floor is an enjoyable sound.
