Stopped by my parents house today and my dad had some knives for me to sharpen from one of his friend. At first I thought, great another S&W or fury that's falling apart or not even worth sharpening but I was shocked. He handed me a box with two filet knives, a old uncle Henry and a Swedish mora type knife. My dad and his friends are the gas station knife guys, so this was a pleasant surprise.

A bunch of his friends bought these cheap, falling apart, liner lock not engaging, POS S&W folders and thought they were the cats @$$. They also thought I turn water into wine because I made my dads Sharp enough to shave, unfortunately I got stuck trying, TRYING to put a edge on the rest of them <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

I had a talk with him and his friends once, it not easy teaching someone about knives and quality when cheap is all they have known. It probably don't help much that I'm half their age either trying to tell them about knives.

Yeah I hear what you are saying about that. I have the same problems with the Deputies here. They'll get a POS S&W or Cuttin Horse that has a so so edge when new and talk about how good it is, UNTIL it gets dull and won't get sharp. They thing that paying $30.00 for a knife is like breaking one of the 10 Commandments!
