Bet they're growing like weeds! I know our Grand baby is. We get to have her with us 3 days every other week (her dad works a week and is off a week). By the time she is gone though we are whupped!

Antics, yeah it's better to laugh than cry, even if it's at yourself! Wisdom? I've been called a lot of things in my life (specially these last 18 years as a Law Enforcement Dispatcher) but very seldom has the word been wisdom. Thank you though for that vote of confidence. Never did the dispatchers job but did do the other end of the radio for 5 years and 3 on rescue . been puked on spitt at lied to swung at and taken to be really stupid and still you have to find the humor in it or it will flat burn you up.

AMEN! I did the road thing for three years part time in my home town but then we got a new Chief and he wanted me to work a set shift (only 2 days a week) but with working dispatch at the sheriff's office 5 nights a week (midnight to eight) I told him I just couldn't do it. He said that they would have to let me go then and get someone that could work more. Hey, didn't bother me any. The old chief one day called me in (I messed around at our town pd all the time) and gave me a check and said go pay your tuition and I asked for what and he said the Police Academy. He had signed me up for it! Well at least I gave them three years.

Yeah Cops have a weird sense of humor at times. But as you said, it's one of the things that help keep you sane. Or at least as sane as a cop can be! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Started out riding along with the chief and got to liking it next thing you know i,m in class . Small town politics and me not being politically correct had a problem with council members saying who you could arrest and who you could not. so we parted companyand right after that met my wife and started talking family landed a good job that i,m not getting shot at , and just never was the right time to get back into it.
