I mean you know about computers and cell phones and quarks and neural networks and photons and and other words I've heard in SiFi shows.

Ha. I love DIY. Skunk, I'm sure you could build some pretty cool stuff.

I have an engineering degree, and it really doesn't mean squat when it comes to a lot of DIY projects. In fact, I'm pretty clumsy, so most of what I make turns out looking like a pile of crap.

Plus, I can't sharpen or reprofile a blade for the life of me.

I want to convex my rodent solution. I got some sandpaper and a mouse pad. Anyone try to reprofile 101 with this method? I'm too much of a wuss to try it out.

can't say that I do anything special outside of what anybody is capable of. I just enjoy doing all that type of stuff. one reason I enjoyed my old job was that I was able to convince people to invest in themselves and open up to the possibility that they could do the stuff I was telling them about. but I believe anybody can do the stuff I can do. sometimes it's just not their thing though and I can't blame them. just like I'm not trying to make a knife or sheaths and still would rather send off to HD for some nice edges when I can.

I had been thinking of starting a DIY thread in the outdoor forum. I've seen a handful of good projects posted on the Yard. spears, slingshots, knives, etc... I'm sure there's plenty of simple stuff we could all learn. maybe need to pool it together. would make for a good way to pass some time. I still need to make that slingshot but my wire hangers all suck. not a single one is stiff enough to work as a slingshot.

Get some beer, put on some good music and be patient! It takes a while, but it'll work.
